I love the new hitsound function Valve introduced to TF2. What I don’t like is the actual DING noise it makes. Luckily Valve has added variables to change this sound.

The Quake 3 hitsound is a lot less annoying, so I decided to use that. Get the Quake 3 hitsound here. Download it and save it to your TF2 folder (Steam\steamapps\yoursteamaccountnamehere\team fortress 2\tf\sound\ui).
