Tonight we were the host for the third edition of the pubs vs the pros, in which 9 public players fight against 6 pro players.

Last time the pros got beaten on gravelpit and badwater, this time the maps were badlands and gravelpit (again).

Let’s be honest, nobody likes Shintaz. Cocky, arrogant and over-confident are some of the words we associate with this guy.
He does however have one good idea every three months. It’s been the same idea the past year, but still, it’s pretty good.

It’s the 3rd incarnation of the Pros vs the Pubs!

The last two times we were lucky enough to host this little event, and yet again we’ll be helping out to make this great event happen.

The first time, the pros won. The second time, the pubbers had their little revenge.

Consider this the 3rd match in a best of three. The pros stand to lose their dignity, while the pubbers are able to win eternal respect from the pubheroes playing on their stupid little 24/7 ctf_2fort servers.

The date/time (6th of june, 03:00 Sydney Time, 13:00 New York Time, 17:00 GMT, 18:00 London/BST, 19:00 Paris/CEST)
Pro team
Gameserver
Shoutcast (at least ETF2L Radio on the FakkelBrigade Shoutcast Mumble)
STV relays (at least 4 FakkelBrigade relays, hopefully more by others)

Pros vs Pubs part II

A while ago we were the host of a ‘pros vs pubbers’ match, today there was another one.

This time the pubbers won! You can get the STV demo’s here

Thanks to Jojipo on the Steam forums, here are the recordings of the Mumble shoutcast, recorded in OGG format, get Winamp if you can’t play OGG files already.

Our server got quite busy with serving the match, the STVs and the Mumble shoutcast

As expected, the 9-man pubhero team was no match for 6-man progamer team. Representing FB, were Mr. Bacon (Cook) and Mr. Weed (Exfane ofc) and they didn’t mess around.

Our good friend Shitnaz was obviously the worst performing ‘pro’, managing to get only 8 players dominated simultaneously.

Because the match was played on the FB server, I’m able to offer you all the STV demo’s.

Ubercharged has a nice writeup with some pro (almost nightbox-like) tips for playing payload maps. Basically, their advice is to GET ON THE CART and they offer some helpful lines you can use to communicate this with your fellow pubhero’s.
